Essential Oil Skin Care Guide
So many skin types, so many essential oils... what oils do I use for my skin?
Essential Oils can be added to your skin care routine. But with all the different kinds of essential oils how are you supposed to know which oils to use for your skin type? Here is a list of different skin types and which oils work best.
Essential Oils For Different Skin Types
Normal
Not to oily and not to dry. Normal skin has few in any imperfections, no severe sensitivity, barely visible pores and radiant complexion. Add these oils to your facial routine. (I add them to my moisturizing cream)
- Geranium Essential Oil
- Lavender Essential Oil
- Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
- Immortelle (doTERRA anti-aging blend)
Dry
Dry skin may have almost invisible pores, dull rough complexion, red patches, more visible lines and has less elasticity. Smooth on a rich moisturizer after bathing and any of the following essential oils.

- Geranium Essential Oil

Oily
Oily skin may have enlarged pores, dull or shiny thick complexion, blackheads pimples and other blemishes may be present. Any of these oils can be added to your daily routine.

Sensitive
Sensitive skin can show up as redness, dryness, burning skin or itchy skin. There are many possible reasons, but most often it's in response to skin care products. Essential oils for sensitive skin are as follows.

Mature
Mature skin can appear drier, lack tone and firmness, deep wrinkles are present, age spots appear, be dehydrated and can have open pores. Many essential oils can be effective in counteracting some of these qualities.

No matter which skin type you have, follow these steps to keep it looking its best.
- Avoid sitting in the sun for long periods of time.
- Use a sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB.
- Stay hydrated! Your skin will love you for drinking lots of water.
- Don't smoke.
- Wash your skin gently but thoroughly daily.
- Never wear makeup to bed.
- Add essential oils to your moisturizer to keep it looking fresh and young.
